Free family fun on the menu as Limestone Elara cafe opens

03 December 2018

Free family fun will be on the menu when one of Schofield’s favourite eateries, Limestone Café, officially opens a new venue at Stockland’s Elara community in Marsden Park on Sunday, 9 December.

A jumping castle, balloonists and face painters will form part of the free entertainment at the opening celebrations at the Limestone Elara cafe, from 11am to 2pm.

Richard Rhydderch, Stockland General Manager, NSW Residential Development, welcomed the cafe to the community and said the celebrations would be a great opportunity for Elara families to come together, make new friends and tempt the tastebuds.

“Limestone Café has built a strong following at Schofields, and we are delighted that they expanding with a venue at Elara,’’ Mr Rhydderch said.

“I encourage all Elara residents and people from surrounding areas to join in the fun and sample some of Limestone Elara’s hospitality.’’

Ben Sultana, Co-owner of Limestone Elara along with his cousin Stephen, said that there had already been a warm response to the café, since they first started trading on November 12.

“The menu has a Maltese influence and it has been very popular,’’ Mr Sultana said.

“We make our own products, from wood-fired breads, cakes and pastries, right down to the patties in the beef burgers. It is a real point of difference.

“Among the favourite items with our customers are our pastizzi, which are savoury pastries filled with ricotta cheese or peas and bacon.’’

Limestone Elara offers a contemporary vibe, set within a converted shipping container framed by decking and shade sails.

Perfect for family outings, the cafe overlooks the Elara playground next to the Sales and Information Centre on Elara Boulevard. It will open from 5.30am-2pm Monday to Friday, 6.30am-2pm Saturday, and 9am-2pm Sunday.

The opening of the café on Sunday will also coincide with the final Aussie NightMarkets for the year at Elara from 5pm-9pm.

The Aussie NightMarkets, held on the second Sunday of each month at Elara, offer locals a taste of exciting flavours from around the world from curries to pasta and an assortment of desserts.

When complete, Elara will comprise more than 4,000 homes, more than 10,000 residents, a town centre, several playgrounds, a community centre, sports fields and a child care centre.

The community is well located in Sydney’s fast-growing north western growth corridor and is close to Sydney Business Park, Schofields Train Station, Norwest Business Park, Parramatta and Blacktown.
