03 July 2019

Stockland Townsville is pleased to welcome Melville’s Farm and Foost to the centre for the school holidays, where they will each be running fun family programs this school holidays.

Malcolm Miller, Centre Manager Stockland Townsville, said: “We are excited to bring in free cooking workshops and an educational and interactive farm animal display to the centre.

“Stockland Townsville is more than just a place for locals to shop and we’re always looking for opportunities to enhance experiences for our customers.

“We’re helping to create some free activities for families to enjoy and be a part of during the school holidays.”

The Foost Colourful Chef will offer free cooking workshops which will teach kids and parents that colourful, healthy eating can be simple and fun.

Children will also be able to play a sense guessing game with season ingredients, and learn how to make new, colourful recipes each day.

Foost founder Kate Wengier, said: “Food is a good place to start when it comes to setting kids up for life.

"Having positive exposures with colourful fruits and veggies increases the likelihood that a child will consume that food.

"Cooking is one of the most valuable life skills we can teach our children.”

Melville's Farm Animal Display will give kids a chance to learn about farm animals in an interactive display area, as well as cuddle with guinea pigs, pet ducklings and chickens, and make friends with piglets.

There will also be a chance to name Melville's Farm’s newest family member, a miniature donkey, and win a $200 Stockland Gift Card.

The cooking workshops will run from 10am to 1pm, Monday, 8 July to Wednesday, 10 July, near the Woolworths in Stockland Townsville, and Stockland Nathan Street Centre from Thursday, 11 July to Saturday, 13 July.

Melville's Farm Animal Display will be located near the Customer Care Desk and will run from 9:30am to 2:30pm, daily until Sunday, 7 July.
