Miguel Maestre turns up the heat to celebrate Stockland first all electric community

15 May 2023

To celebrate the launch of Wildflower in Piara Waters – Stockland’s first all-electric community in Western Australia – the team this week hosted a gas-free cooking demonstration for customers and new homeowners with celebrity chef, Miguel Maestre and local chef, Chef Gogo.

The interactive cooking demonstration was held at Home Collective in Leederville, featuring delicious recipes all made on induction cooktops.

Chef Gogo focused on Indian flavours and Miguel shared his signature paella using fresh scallops caught that morning at Rottnest Island.

Stockland General Manager – WA Communities, Col Dutton said the night was organised to show homeowners the advantages of induction cooking and encourage the community to move towards renewable energy sources and more energy-efficient homes.

“Communities like Wildflower set the standard for future homes in Western Australia. Wildflower is a significant step in Stockland’s journey as we explore how we can further boost ours and our residents’ own paths to decarbonisation,” said Mr Dutton.

“This week’s cooking demonstration shows us how easy it is to create delicious meals using induction cooktops, all while reducing our carbon footprint and saving money through lower energy costs.”

Celebrity chef, Miguel Maestre said it was great to be working with Stockland to launch Wildflower and celebrate the kitchen as the heart of the home.

“Food is something that brings people together, and that’s what we’ve done this week for Wildflower homeowners. It’s great to see how involved everyone was at our cooking demonstration. That’s what I love about working with Stockland – that the communities are all so vibrant and connected,” Mr Maestre said.

Stockland Wildflower is located in Piara Waters, 26 kilometres southeast from Perth’s CBD. It is well connected to shops, services, and schools, including the new Piara Waters Senior High School located one kilometre from the community.

House and land packages on sale now starting at $509,800 and land lots starting at $277,000.
