Premium waterside land released at Quay at Newport

25 September 2018

Buyers seeking a waterside lifestyle have a new opportunity to build a dream home on or near the water’s edge with the release of eight premium home sites at Stockland’s $590 million Newport community.

The latest release of land at the Quay Precinct at Newport comes during a milestone in construction as building of the first home beside the vibrant bayside community’s signature 22-hectare lake gets under way.

The lake, now well over halfway through construction, will be the centrepiece of the Newport community, providing residents with an idyllic outlook and an abundance of water-based recreational opportunities right on the doorstep including kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.

David Laner, Acting Queensland General Manager for Residential at Stockland, said the latest release of home sites, launched in response to continued demand, would offer customers an enviable lifestyle within walking distance of Newport’s future Town Centre.

“Newport’s prestigious Quay precinct offers buyers the chance to enjoy a dream lifestyle in the beautiful surrounds of the lake, within close proximity to future alfresco eateries and boutique shopping,” Mr Laner said.

“It will also provide tranquil water views for residents as they make the most of the future foreshore parks and kilometres of cycle ways and walking paths, encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle.”

The lots in the latest release range from 384 square metres to 554 square metres and are priced from $399,900.

Mathew and Tanya Davey are the first buyers to begin construction on a lakeside block at Quay at Newport, with the slab on their two-storey waterfront home now laid.

The family hopes to be in their five-bedroom home, which they had designed with a seamless indoor-outdoor living aspect to take full advantage of the water views over the lake, by December.

“It’s all about the lifestyle, restaurants and water here,’’ Mr Davey said. “The house had to be designed around the outlook and the lifestyle.

“We had an architect to help us, but we designed the home ourselves with the view out to the water as the focus.’’

The location also provides easy access to the Brisbane Airport. And with two children, aged eight and five, the Davey family also likes the idea of parkland and a network of bike paths and walking tracks at the doorstep.

The family, presently living in Mango Hill, has been keenly watching the progress on construction of the home, which will also contain three bathrooms, a large upper balcony with ocean views, three living areas, a pool, a double garage with extra storage space, and a deck over water and pontoon.

The Newport community offers future residents a modern and convenient lifestyle with a wide selection of home sites, all of which are just a short stroll to the bay and green open spaces.

When the lake is completed it will have high mast access to Moreton Bay via a lock and two shared use zones for light paddle craft. The lake is expected to be opened for use late this year.

Newport, which will eventually be home to around 5,000 residents, occupies a prime position just 36km north of Brisbane CBD, and is minutes to Kippa-Ring railway station which links to Brisbane CBD. Newport is also just a short drive from Stockland’s award-winning North Lakes community.

The Newport Sales and Information Centre on the corner of Griffith and Boardman Roads is open 7am to 5pm daily.

Stockland also sponsors free outdoor fitness sessions in Newport Park from Monday to Friday during school terms.
