Seaside café under construction at Amberton Beach

18 December 2018

Stockland’s $5 million foreshore precinct at Amberton Beach in Eglinton is taking shape, with construction currently underway on a new full-service café and bar which will open to the public in 2019.

Direct beach access from Cinnabar Drive has been popular with locals since it opened last July. A children’s playground and stairway to the beach will open this month and a park adjacent to the café and bar is also planned for completion next year and will be set across approximately 1.5 hectares.

Col Dutton, WA General Manager Residential at Stockland, said that upon completion the café will cater to approximately 200 people and will include internal and external dining areas set 16 metres above sea level with uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean.

“Our exciting new foreshore precinct has been highly anticipated among residents and we are pleased to report that the next stage is about to commence with the construction of the café and bar, which is the first of its kind in the area due to its proximity to the ocean,” Mr Dutton said.

“This pristine stretch of coastline is a drawcard for many residents and the new Amberton Beach foreshore amenities will give residents and visitors another excellent location where they can gather for a meal with friends and family.”

The playground adjacent to the new dining space will be a fully-enclosed retreat for kids. A barbecue, shade shelter, ample seating, drinking fountains and three beach wash-down showers will also be provided.

Amberton Beach is growing in popularity, with a new skate bowl, AFL-sized sports field, outdoor exercise stations, Pirate Playground, Scooter Park and network of cycleways and footpaths providing fun destinations for families.

The Amberton Beach community will ultimately comprise more than 2,500 dwellings ranging from freestanding homes to townhomes. Land is currently priced from $159,000 and house and land packages start from $303,390.
