02 August 2019

Stockland has today revealed the retailers that will make up the new $33 million Baringa town centre, the first of various retail town centres planned for Aura, as well as the official opening date.

The town centre will become home to a number of health, beauty and food retailers, including local barber and café The Barber Shed, Spirit Pilates, Jetts Fitness, Avenue Dental, SG Bakery, Hikaru Sushi and two new cafés, Grind Café and Mr Z @ Aura.

Stockland also looks forward to welcoming Cellarbrations, Aura Property, Kindred Property, TSG and Golden Casket to the town centre - with additional retailers still to be announced.

The neighbourhood town centre will include a full-line Supa IGA, 13 specialty retailers, approximately 300 car spaces and commercial floorspace. Stockland also has future plans for a medical centre, swim school and tavern, with the tavern set to open by November of this year.

Shane Monro, Centre Manager at Stockland Baringa, said: “We are excited to finally introduce the community to our new retail town centre here in Baringa.

“We place special emphasis on understanding the wants and needs of our community and we think that we’ve created a space that delivers exactly on that.

“We want the new town centre to bring the community together and offer them an experience that is convenient and adds value to their lives.”

Baringa is the first suburb to be completed in Aura which stretches across 24 square kilometres in Caloundra South on the Sunshine Coast.

Josh Sondergeld, Aura Project Director, Stockland, said: “We are thrilled that the new town centre is nearly complete and that our residents can enjoy yet another benefit of living in our beautiful Aura community.

“We take pride in bringing ease and comfort to our residents and adding value in their everyday. The new town centre will complement many other key elements of the Baringa Community Hub which include Baringa State Primary School, sports fields, civic square, skate and scooter plaza, and Council’s community facility.

The new Stockland Baringa town centre will be anchored by a 2,000 square metre Supa IGA managed by successful Sunshine Coast operators Michael and Roz White of Whites IGA.

The cutting edge supermarket will be custom built utilising local manufacturers integrating the latest design features including a fresh food hall with in-store butcher and baker, an instore café, juice bar and cheese fromagerie wall.

Stockland Baringa town centre is set to open on Wednesday 28 August with community celebrations to follow on Saturday 31 August.
