Stockland Baldivis first shopping centre in Western Australia to offer technology and light festival

Stockland Baldivis is pleased to announce that it will be hosting Baldivis TechFest; an immersive technology and light festival that will offer fun and interactive experiences for people of all ages and abilities.

Darin Maher, Centre Manager at Stockland Baldivis, said: “We wanted to offer a unique experience for our customers and their families this school holidays.

“Baldivis TechFest is made up of a number of exciting opportunities that mesmerise the senses; from high-definition projections and glow-in-the-dark art, to augmented reality and green screen technologies.”

“It’s a way for us to give back to our community and we are so pleased to offer some fun exhibits at the centre for local families and friends to come enjoy together.

Baldivis TechFest will include five unique and interactive exhibits located throughout the centre:

- Living Floor Koi Pond: A high-definition projection of a koi pond with swimming fish and rippling water that interacts with customers and engages their senses as they walk.

- Virtual World: Customers can project themselves onto a giant augmented reality screen where they can interact with dinosaurs, whales, tigers and more.

- Glow-in-the-Dark Art Room: In this blacked-out art room, customers can draw with the glow-in-the-dark inks to virtually bringing their creations to life and create incredible effects.

- 3D Dancing Lights Room: With more than 2,500 colour-changing light globes hanging from the ceiling, customers will be mesmerised as they experience the sights and sounds of this unique 3D light show.

- Animated Photo Station: Using green screen technology, customers will appear to be propped up in a car, driving through Baldivis.

Baldivis Secondary College media students, all of whom are currently working on technology or augmented reality projects, will be present at some of the exhibits to educate the community and peers on how exactly the technologies work.

Stockland Baldivis will also offer sensory sessions for children who have sensory

barriers or are living with a disability on Sunday, 14 July from 9.30am to 10.45am.

The sessions will allow kids and their families to attend the exhibits without lines or

music, and with dimmed centre lights.

Baldivis TechFest will run in the centre from Friday, 5 July to Sunday, 21 July. The

public is invited to come experience the exhibits from Monday to Friday, 10am to

2pm, and Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 3pm.
