Stockland has revealed the first look of its new district sports precinct, Baringa Sports Complex, a 7.5 hectare sports and recreation facility located in Baringa, part of the Stockland Aura masterplanned community on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The sports precinct will feature two full-sized AFL grounds, eight tennis courts, and four hot shots tennis courts designed for children, making it one of the largest sports precincts in Aura, alongside the Nirimba Sports Complex. Civil works on the district sports precinct have begun, with construction set to be complete in the second half of 2024.

Stockland Aura Project Director, Josh Sondergeld said this new precinct caters to a wide range of sports and recreational activities, and adds another active open space for the Aura community to enjoy.

“We are delighted to have this sports precinct underway, which will provide our residents with an impressive state-of-the-art facility catering to a wide range of sports and recreational activities," Mr Sondergeld said.

"At Stockland, we take pride in creating communities that prioritise wellbeing and foster a strong sense of connection for residents and locals. Our latest annual Liveability Survey shows residents at Aura value being close to local parks and green spaces, so we look forward to officially opening Baringa Sports Complex later this year.”

The Baringa Sports Complex is expected to cost around $8 million and will be located on Farmers Crescent which is currently under construction in the Aura Business Park in Baringa. The complex, which commenced construction in late 2023, adjoins the recently opened Bells Creek Arterial, providing easy access for residents from all suburbs of Aura.
