Stockland secures Optus for 2 Victoria Avenue, Perth

The Stockland owned office building, 2 Victoria Avenue in Perth, Western Australia will be re-named the Optus Centre following the recent commitment of Optus to lease the property.

Optus has leased the top floor of the building (level 3), with a total floor space of 1,908 square metres, along with the building naming and signage rights.

Stockland is now the owner of both the Optus Centre in Perth, as well as a 51% join venture owner of the 84,000sqm Optus Centre at Macquarie Park in NSW.

Tony D’Addona, General Manager Logistics and Business Parks at Stockland, said: “We are proud to extend our existing relationship with Optus and welcome them as our major tenant at 2 Victoria Avenue in Perth now to be known as The Optus Centre. Our vision is to offer modern, sustainable and functional office assets across the country which support our tenants, their employees and the community.”

Linkforce Engineering and Main Roads WA have also leased whole floors of the Optus Centre (previously known as 2 Victoria Avenue). Each of these tenants will be vacating older office buildings within the CBD and CBD fringe.

Full floor refurbishments have been completed on each floor throughout the building including an upgrade to base building services, new wall and floor finishes and all bathrooms were redecorated. Brand new End of Trip facilities have been expanded upon and re-designed in the basement.

2 Victoria Avenue is a 7,200 square metre architecturally stylish building which was originally developed by Stockland for Shell in 2006.

It was the first building in Western Australia to achieve a 6 Star Green Star Office Design V2 rating and a ‘World Leadership’ status in environmental sustainability. The building also achieved a 5 Star NABERS rating and 5 Star Green Star "As Built" rating. This highly specified building was designed to achieve the PCA A Grade.

The building louver system on the western façade, a grey water treatment system and highly efficient chilled beam heating and cooling.
