Stockland thinks inside the box with community workshops inside restored shipping container

13 November 2019

Stockland Harrisdale is thrilled to officially open ‘The Coop’ this month – a newly restored 12-metre shipping container which will play host to a series of new community workshops.

The workshops will vary between paid and complimentary, and will include cooking classes, health and wellbeing info sessions, resume development and job searching workshops, art workshops and first aid courses. Each will be run by local professionals, such as writers, career counsellors, first aid practitioners and more.

Erica Campbell, Centre Manager at Stockland Harrisdale, said that the team was looking forward to curating such unique experiences for the community.

“We see this space as one created for the community – where friends and family can connect, learn new skills and support one another. We’re proud to be able to facilitate such a positive experience for our customers and to add a genuine value to their lives.”

“We have seen incredible success from similar experiences at Stockland Bull Creek and are eager to make them even more widely available for people to enjoy.”

In addition to the workshops, the shipping container space will double as an opportunity for casual leasing.*

Ms Campbell continued: “It’s a wonderful chance to support local small businesses and talent in our community and help them potentially gain some exposure and to connect with new and existing customers.”

Those who are interested in signing up for the workshops can do so either online or at Centre Management via paper booking forms.
