Plans for Stockland’s $142 million Halcyon Vasse community in Western Australia’s south west have been approved.

Halcyon Vasse is a land lease community designed for over 55s and is expected to provide around 213 homes surrounded by resort-style facilities across the 14-hectare site.

Plans include a community centre that is intended to include a clubhouse with a private dining room, library, games room, outdoor terrace, indoor and outdoor function spaces, commercial kitchen, and Gold Class style cinema.

A state-of-the-art wellness centre is also proposed, which includes facilities like a 25-metre heated pool, spa, sauna, gym, and yoga room, as well as a, pickleball court, community garden, events lawn and BBQ pavilions.

Homeowners will have the opportunity to choose from six different architecturally designed housing options, with each intended to achieve a minimum 7-star NatHERS rating.

Construction at Halcyon Vasse will be staged over five years, with communal facilities expected to be delivered in the early stages.

Stockland Project Director Andrew Wallis said Halcyon Vasse will provide another housing option for those over 55 looking to experience the south west region’s iconic lifestyle.

“Following the successful launch of Halcyon Wildflower in Piara Waters and soon Halcyon Illyarrie in Sinagra, West Australians have demonstrated a strong interest in the land lease model,” Mr Wallis said.

“Our focus at Halcyon Vasse is to create a vibrant and active community designed for over 55s where homeowners feel connected and have access to quality facilities on their doorstep. The community provides a convenient lock-and-leave lifestyle so homeowners can choose to spend more time travelling, socialising, and enjoying what the region has to offer.

“Land lease communities like Halcyon Vasse are an important part of the housing continuum, increasing the supply of housing by providing those over 55 with more choice in a beautiful part of WA,” Mr Wallis added.
