McKeachie's Run resident Leroy Scott transformed his life being getting active and is now helping his neighbours do the same.

The Live Life Get Active is one of the most popular events on the McKeachie's Run calendar and its sessions are run by local trainer Leroy Scott, whose story is as inspiring as he is determined.

Scott, who lives in the Stockland NSW community McKeachie's Run, started his career in personal training after a back injury lead him to gain 30 kilograms and struggling to enjoy time with his family. The former naval serviceman lost the weight thanks to a personal trainer and now hopes to help others to start getting more active in their lives with community locals with Live Life Get Active.

This was the biggest turning point in my life. I set goals and then achieved them, and then set new goals,” Scott told the Lower Hunter Star in June, 2015.

Residents can attend Scott's classes for free every day in the McKeachie's Run sports field. Classes include boxing, yoga and x-training. Stockland also hosts and runs a range of programs and activities across its communities and actively involves community residents to take part. Other programs open to our residences include Link & Learn, a series of activities that bring the community together to learn new skills, movie nights and community gardening events.

Availability for these activities varies between communities, so see our website for more details.
