Road Infrastructure Projects

We understand the importance of key road and transport infrastructure in meeting the growing needs of the community and that is why we are working closely with Council, the State Government and relevant authorities to try and deliver these as quickly as possible.

Bells Creek Arterial Road extension
Co-funded by the Queensland State Government this $70M project connecting Aura Boulevard roundabout to Bells Creek Road and the Roys Road highway intersection, provides direct access and a quicker, safer drive for residents within Aura to and from the highway.

Bellvista Boulevard duplication
An additional lane each way and roundabout upgrades have been completed along Bellvista Blvd between Dumbarton Dr and the Emerald Dr and Turquoise Pl roundabout to aid traffic flow.

Aura Boulevard duplication
Stockland is in the process of finalising the design and development approvals to begin the duplication of Aura Boulevard from the Graf Drive intersection to the Bells Creek Arterial Road roundabout.

FORECAST OPENING MID 2025*
Graf Drive & Racecourse Road connection
Providing the community a third exit onto Caloundra Road, Graf Drive in the Aura Business Park will be extended to connect with Racecourse Road in the neighbouring Corbould Park industrial area providing convenient access for the community and local businesses.

Nirimba Drive connection to Banya Avenue
Stockland are currently in the design process to extend Nirimba Drive across the Aura Brook to provide a direct connection to Banya Avenue. This will provide quicker access between suburbs and to the Nirimba State Primary School.

Caloundra Road intersection upgrades
TMR is investigating options to improve safety and reduce congestion at the Caloundra Road, Kawana Way Link Road and Bells Creek Arterial Road intersection in Caloundra.

Baringa Retail Centre Expansion
Construction is well underway on the extension of the Baringa Retail Centre. This project will expand the Medical Centre and add additional tenancies (including a pharmacy and allied health services) to meet the needs of the growing community.

Farmers Markets
Stockland have secured development approval and are working to secure an operator for a farmers market on Central Avenue near the Display Village. The proposed market will include fruit & vege options and other retailers.

Petrol Station, Baringa (by others)
The EG Ampol petrol station will provide a residents a convenient location for fuel and daily essentials. Cafe Aurora will open as part of this development.

Stage 1 FORECAST OPENING mid 2024*
Aura Brook
Aura Brook is divided into four stages and will take approximately 5 years to complete. Stage 1 construction is well underway and will include a dog park, open green space and an educational nature trail.

Enchanted Garden Park
Part of Stage 1 of Aura Brook this park will feature a twilight plaza that will come alive with glowing pathways at dusk, sculptural elements, an open kick-about space and an elevated view point of the Brook

Pedestrian Boardwalk | Aura Brook
Construction will soon begin on a boardwalk trails within the future Aura Brook connecting walkers to nature and kilometres of future walking trails, providing direct walking access between Banya and the Nirimba State School.

Pedestrian Bridge | Aura Brook
Construction has begun on a playfully designed pedestrian bridge, featuring curves to replicate the movement of water over the future Aura Brook. The bridge will provide direct walking access between Nirimba & the future Enchanted Garden Park to Banya.

Nirimba Rugby League Grounds
A second sports park spanning 4 hectares is under construction in Nirimba. Featuring two Rugby League fields and a clubhouse, the park will be the communities first senior Rugby League facility.

Baringa Sports Complex
An $8M district sports park has commenced construction in Baringa on Farmers Crescent by the Business Park. Featuring two full sized AFL fields, eight tennis courts and four smaller hotshot courts the park will offer new sporting opportunities for locals.

Emergency Services Precinct (by others)
Situated in the future City Centre the emergency services precinct will house police, fire and ambulance. The site has been handed over to the Queensland Government for delivery.

Forecast opening mid 2025*
Goodstart Childcare Centre, Nirimba
Construction is planned to begin early 2024* on Aura's second childcare centre by Good Start Early Learning. Situated in Northern Nirimba by North Village and The Avenues the centre will provide an childcare option close to home for Aura's growing families.

Planned opening 2025 school year*
Notre Dame College (by Others)
Owned and developed by Brisbane Catholic Education, this P-12 Catholic School will be the first private school in Aura. This co-ed school is forecast to open in 2025* for Prep to Year 3, and Year 7 students and is master-planned for 1836 students on completion.

Aura Lagoon & parkland
The designs for Aura's very own lagoon are progressing well and Stockland are working closely with Council and EDQ for the approvals. This is a high priority project for Stockland and we look forward to sharing further detail as the approvals progress.

Aura Hotel (by Others)
The Comiskey Groupā€™s $45m hotel will be the heart of the premium entertainment hub in the City Centre of Aura. Aura Hotel is scheduled to be complete in 2026*.

The Stockland team are diligently working in the background on a number of high priority projects that we know are important to the community. While we can't provide concrete timelines just yet, check out the latest behind the scenes updates below.

  • Construction has begun on a District Sports Park in Baringa near the Business Park. The sports park will be home to AFL and Tennis facilities and is forecast to open in late-2024*. Stay tuned for further information.

Park & community maintenance

Spot maintenance, damage or other matters requiring attention in our community, particularly our parks? Use the Sunshine Coast Council App to report. As the community grows, maintenance responsibilities transition from Stockland to the local council. We highly encourage residents to report and advocate directly to help resolve matters as quickly as possible. 

Note: Space Park, Whale Park, Dolphin Park & Shark Park are still under Stockland's management, please contact us directly with any concerns.
