2017:
Aura achieves world-standard sustainability rating
• Aura is recognised as the highest Green Star-rated greenfield masterplanned community in Australia by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA), reaching a “world leadership” standard. This rating acknowledges Stockland’s focus at Aura on proven sustainable development that both protects and regenerates the natural environment, making Aura an exemplar community by developing a new city to the world’s highest environmental and liveability standards.

2018:
Aura Business Park opens
• A commercial and industrial real estate precinct is launched in Aura, providing a business centre of investment, offering an opportunity for businesses to thrive and creating an important employment hub for the community.

2019:
Official opening of the Baringa Town Centre
• The $33 million Baringa town centre and retail district officially opens, providing residents with access to an IGA supermarket, 13 specialty retailers, commercial space, a tavern, swim school and proposed medical precinct.

2020:
Aura welcomes it’s 5,000th resident
• Nearly five years on from construction commencing on the $5 billion masterplanned development, 5,000 residents call the Aura community home. The vibrant and sustainable community is a favourite for individuals and families seeking a connected lifestyle, close to schools, shopping, parks, playgrounds and employment hubs.

2021:
Aura’s first high school opens
• Baringa State Secondary College officially opens, welcoming over 200 students in its inaugural year of operation, following an 11-month build. The $127.5 million state-of-the art college was part of a collaborative agreement between Stockland, Sunshine Coast Council and the Queensland Government operating with a strong focus on STEM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

2022:
Baringa Forest Park opens
• The 10 hectare Baringa Forest Park opens, providing the community with access to a walking trail through the Blackbutt Forest and state-of-the-art play equipment. The park opening adds to the continually growing park network within Aura ensuring all residents can embrace their weekends with fun, adventure and physical activity.

2023:
Bells Creek Arterial Road extension is completed
• The 8km Bells Creek Arterial extension road is officially opened by the Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, completing the 11km link between the Bruce Highway and Caloundra Road. This $70 million project and significant infrastructure milestone was co-funded by the Queensland State Government to service the growing Caloundra South region and greatly enhance connectivity for Aura residents.
