Boasting a vibrant mix of residential, commercial and recreational spaces, Aura is more than just a place to live – it's a lifestyle destination. While many are familiar with what’s on offer in the masterplanned community, here are eight numbers that you might not know!

1. 2 million trees 
Did you know that nearly one third of the Aura site has been dedicated to conservation? 
With 700 hectares of conservation areas and open space reserves, a 10-hectare recreational park, more than 2 million trees being planted on site and 30 percent of the area being preserved for natural bushland, Aura truly is a city set in nature. 

2. 144 Olympic swimming pools of additional frog habitat 
Did you know that Wallum Sedge Frogs – part of the acid frog species – have been successfully breeding in a specially designed habitat within Aura, marking an Australian first? Aura’s Wallum Sedge Frogs have been thriving in their created habitat, with recent data showing that the size of the habitat to protect the vulnerable frog has increased by an additional 18 hectares at Aura in just the past 12 months – that’s the equivalent of 144 Olympic swimming pools!

3. 200km of planned walking paths and veloways
Aura is not only a great place to live, it’s a great place to stay active. With more than 109km of the walking paths and cycling veloways already delivered, with 200km planned on completion, residents have safe and easy access to parks, schools, shops and community events.

4. 6-Star Green Star Communities rating
Aura is setting the standard for sustainable living as one of the first communities in Australia to achieve the highest possible 6-star accreditation from the Green Building Council of Australia, demonstrating its commitment to both sustainability and liveability.

5. 10,000 residents already call Aura home

Currently, Aura is home to more than 10,000 residents, with plans for further expansion in the coming years to support the growing Caloundra South region. Aura offers more than just traditional housing options, beyond single family homes the community boasts a range of townhomes as well as over 50s lifestyle communities, catering to a diverse range of lifestyles and preferences.

6. 20,000 jobs planned for Aura
Aura is home to many successful businesses and boasts its own $215 million business hub, the Aura Business Park. The precinct features more than 170 industrial lots and more than 79 businesses so far, including The Laundry Lady, a professional mobile laundry service operating Australia-wide who secured a record-breaking deal of $1 million after pitching on Shark Tank Australia. Once Aura is complete, it is estimated that 20,000 jobs will be generated, allowing people to work close to home. With plans for a second business park in future, Aura is set to become a business centre of investment.

7. 80 market stalls coming soon
In exciting news, the Aura Farmers Market will launch mid-2024 celebrating local produce, gourmet take-home delicacies, artisanal crafts and live music to bring together the community at the custom-built site. Featuring up to 80 stalls, the market will operate each Saturday from 7am until midday. The site will also host the Aura Twilight Market, with a bar, food trucks and entertainment from 4pm until 8pm on the first Friday of each month – a perfect way to unwind after a long week and to kick off the weekend. 

8. 2 new sporting facilities opening later this year
Aura’s second sports park is currently under construction in Nirimba, spanning 4 hectares and featuring two Rugby League fields and a clubhouse. In addition, the $8M district sports park has commenced construction in Baringa on Farmers Crescent, featuring two full-sized AFL fields, eight tennis courts and four smaller hotshot courts to get Aura locals outside and active!
