A bright beginning: Goodstart Early Learning opens in Nirimba
A new chapter has begun for Aura’s littlest residents, with the official opening of Goodstart Early Learning Nirimba this month. Just a short stroll from Nirimba State Primary School, the brand-new childcare centre is already making its mark — not only through its thoughtfully designed learning environment, but through its strong focus on connection and community.
For Centre Director Kim Boland and her team, the childcare centre is about so much more than early education.
“We’re most excited about becoming a part of the vibrant and diverse Nirimba community,” Kim says. “We see our centre as more than just a place for learning, it’s a space where lasting relationships and partnerships can grow.”
The centre features eight light-filled learning areas, nature-inspired outdoor play spaces, a dedicated sleep room, and nutritious meals prepared fresh onsite by a chef. But it’s the team inside that truly brings the centre to life.
“Our educators are the heart of our centre,” Kim shares. “Many of our team members are locals, so they understand the importance of community. Families can expect a place where their voices are heard, their values are respected, and their children are supported to thrive.”
Welcome to the neighbourhood! Goodstart Early Learning Nirimba Centre Director Kim Boland and Goodstart CEO Dr Ros Baxter officially open Aura’s newest childcare centre.
From play-based programs to inclusive learning materials that reflect and celebrate diversity, the Goodstart team has been intentional in creating an environment where families feel welcomed, supported and valued.
Where curiosity grows – Nature-inspired outdoor play spaces encourage little explorers to learn, move and connect through play.
Charlotte Buckley, Aura’s Community Engagement Manager, says the new centre is a valuable addition to the neighbourhood, strengthening Aura’s growing sense of community.
“Centres like Goodstart Early Learning are often the glue in family-friendly communities,” Charlotte says. “They offer a high-quality early education option close to home, but just as importantly, they help bring people together — supporting parents and carers to connect and helping to build friendships that can last well beyond the early years.”
Goodstart Nirimba is the second centre of its kind in Aura, following the success of its sister site in Baringa — a centre that Kim says has helped set the tone from day one.
“Our goal is to build on the strong foundations laid by Baringa. The way they’ve embedded themselves into the fabric of the community and built such strong relationships with families has been incredibly inspiring,” she says.
“Being part of a growing, connected community like Aura is a privilege, and we’re proud to help shape the early years of Nirimba’s little learners in a space where every child feels safe, seen and celebrated.”
For many local families, the journey to a lifelong love of learning is just beginning.
Designed with families in mind, Goodstart Nirimba offers welcoming spaces that support a shared journey through the early years.
