Owner, Mel Baker said she was pleased to now run her business from home in Baringa after initially establishing the business as a shopfront in Mooloolaba.

“I love living in the Aura community as it’s really family based. You can hear the kids out on the street playing, and there’s lots of events being run such as movie nights and market days. There’s so much on offer here,” said Ms Baker.

“I’ve got family that come to visit from the Gold Coast and the first thing they do, is ask what park are we going to, and we’ll spend a whole day in Aura going from park to park. The kids love it,” she added.

Mel knows the importance of community support in driving the success of her business and the mutually beneficial relationship that develops when local business and the community come together.

“My vision for Suits Direct is to stay here and help support the Aura community and provide a good option for people to hire a suit rather than buy.”

“Business really thrives by word of mouth. In Aura everybody likes to support everybody, and we work together. Everything you need is in this area.”

Since relocating the business from its initial shopfront, Suits Direct has thrived in its new surroundings in Baringa, with the business becoming an integral part of the community and forging strong connections with the residents. With many of the schools in the area staggering their formal dates, the business is available to support locals all year round.
