New large format retail announced
The Aura masterplanned community recently celebrated a significant milestone with the announcement of Aura Home + Life. This expansive new retail precinct promises to redefine shopping and lifestyle options in Aura, enhancing convenience and creating jobs for local residents.
With 18,000sqm of retail space, the Aura Home + Life precinct is set to be a game-changer for residents in Caloundra South and the surrounding hinterland towns. Thanks to a substantial $65 million investment by Canberra-based Capital Property Group, this project is designed to meet the growing needs of our community with a diverse range of home and lifestyle tenants.
The large format retail precinct will house between 12 and 16 tenancies, ranging from 350 to 5,000 square metres featuring a variety of retailers offering electrical goods, furniture, pet supplies, homewares, automotive products and recreational items, plus up to two food and beverage outlets.

Richard Snow, Head of Property at Capital Property Group, emphasised the significance of this investment.
“With the Sunshine Coast’s population set to exceed 540,000 by 2046*, we see significant potential to invest in the region by providing key amenities to support the growing needs of the population in the decades ahead,” said Mr Snow.
“We are excited to be at the forefront of this growth and to contribute to creating a thriving, future-focused community.”
Aura Home + Life is not just about retail - it's also about creating opportunities for local residents. During construction, the project is expected to generate approximately 100 jobs. Upon completion, the precinct will provide over 200 permanent and casual positions, contributing significantly to the local economy.
Josh Sondergeld, Stockland Aura Project Director, highlighted the positive impact on the community.
“This new home and lifestyle hub will bring together a vibrant mix of home and lifestyle retailers to keep our residents and the community well connected to everything they need, while also creating local jobs and driving economic growth within Aura,” said Mr Sondergeld.
“We’re pleased to be working with our partners to deliver this precinct which reflects our commitment to building vibrant communities where people can live, work and play.”
Located at the corner of Graf Drive and Aura Boulevard, adjacent to the Aura Business Park, the site offers convenient access to the Bells Creek Arterial Road and Bruce Highway. With 400 car parks available, accessibility will be a breeze for shoppers.
Construction is set to commence in early 2025, with the grand opening anticipated in early to mid-2026. For more details on Aura Home + Life, including progress updates and leasing information, visit www.aurahomelife.com.au.
