Stockland Providence is proud to be supporting the new Ripley Scouts, located in the Ripley region.
Group leader and Ripley Scouts founder Andrea Finch said scouts can be enjoyed by all ages, with adult members now welcome.
“You can learn new skills, have adventures and meet new friends, while making a difference to young people in our local community,” said Ms Finch.
“The purpose of scouts is to encourage the physical, social, and intellectual development of young people through a youth led, adult supported program, which can include activities such as camping, bushwalking, canoeing, climbing and boating.”
The Ripley Scouts provides opportunities for youth aged between five and 25 years old.
Stockland Project Director David Franklin said the business is thrilled to see Ripley Scouts come to life.
“We know how important it is for young people to have a safe space where they can get to know their community better while attending activities away from the Ripley Scouts Den,” said Mr Franklin.
Stockland Providence is already home to 4,000 residents and is estimated to cater to 20,000 residents over the next 20 years. Upon completion, the 700-hectare community will include four schools, a proposed village centre and satellite hospital, and more than 200 hectares of parkland and sporting facilities.
The Stockland Providence community is located 43 kilometres south-west of the Brisbane CBD and 12 kilometres west of Greater Springfield.
