Inspired by nature and the local environment, Katalia’s future park design features a mix of plants and earthy materials that will compliment the natural aesthetics of the Donnybrook area. 

This design also ensures that rainwater is directed from the reserve to the existing trees through sub surface drainage, to protect and retain the beautiful mature trees.

Other thoughtful landscaping design features of Katalia’s future park include:

• Retention of existing native eucalyptus trees
• Large native vegetation area featuring indigenous plants and walking track
• Playground with ropes course for adventurous older kids including two slides at each end
• Play items for smaller children, such as swings, rocker, spinner and talk tubes
• Re-building of historic stone walls that were removed due to widening of Donnybrook Road
• Interactive artwork for everyone to enjoy
