Construction starts on Aura Central as sales soar

07 June 2018

Stockland today marked the start of construction on the new Aura Central Precinct, within the $5 billion Aura community on the Sunshine Coast.

Aura Central is set to be the future heart of Aura featuring 10,000 homes including the City Centre, the extensive People’s Place parkland, a range of education and sporting facilities and a future employment precinct.

Aura continues to see unprecedented buyer demand from local and interstate buyers. Over the 12 months to March 2018 Aura has been the fastest selling community in Queensland and to date has sold over 1,400 lots, including 100 lots within Aura Central in the past three months.

Adrian Allen, Aura Project Director, Stockland, said the high level of interest in the new precinct was in response to Aura’s bold vision to create a world-class, liveable community.

“Aura Central’s location adjoining Bells Creek north offers an enviable lifestyle for future residents who will be able to access the region’s best new schools, parks, sporting precincts, community facilities and a number of major employment hubs such as the Sunshine Coast Hospital, Aura Business Park and future Aura City Centre.”

“We are thrilled to be celebrating the start of construction on the Aura Central precinct and are looking forward to seeing the first streets and home sites take shape later this year.”

“We have seen homebuyers swoop on this affordable new residential precinct, with the number of sales already achieved a strong show of support for our vision for the future heart of this community.”

Upon completion Aura Central will feature six sporting fields providing families with a wide choice of outdoor reactional options, five community centres, four schools and three retail centres. The precinct will also include an extensive network of cycling and walking paths, including the continuation of the Aura Veloway providing safe alternate transport options for residents and visitors to access every part of Aura.

Aura Central adjoins the future Aura City Centre, designed in response to the Sunshine Coast’s sub-tropical climate and set to offer a diverse range of retail and civic spaces, dining experiences, entertainment options, commercial offices, work hubs and tourist accommodation.

The Aura City Centre also includes a university site and the People’s Place an 11 hectare South Bank style parkland set to become a key local attraction. Stockland is currently working through approvals for the Aura City Centre, with construction planned to commence within the next 5 years.

Adrian Allen continues, “We have taken our time to ensure Aura Central will be the epicentre of the Aura community, where residents and visitors come together to enjoy the enviable Sunshine Coast lifestyle on offer.”

“Aura is proving to be a highly sought-after community for people at all stages of life who appreciate quality, affordable homes in a safe, family-friendly environment where everything is on their doorstep.”

A wide range of quality home sites are available at Aura to suit all buyer needs, with prices ranging from $170,000 for a 180 square metre lot to $311,500 for a 583 square metre lot.

The first residents at Aura Central are expected to move in around mid-2019.
