New $3.2 million water-themed playground to open at Elara

19 February 2019

Work is well under way on a state-of-the-art $3.2 million water-themed playground designed for children of all ages and abilities at Stockland’s Elara community at Marsden Park.

Livvi’s Place Elara, an exciting new 7,400 square metre adventure playground featuring a centrepiece water play zone complete with spouting fountains, is set to become a destination for families across Sydney’s north west.

Stockland is working with children’s charity the Touched by Olivia Foundation, along with Blacktown City Council and Marsden Park Primary School, to ensure the playground is inclusive for all children, with wheelchair access as well as areas for sensory and educational play.

The playground is due to open in the coming months and will also feature a flying fox, spring see-saws, slides, swings and climbing nets, along with an all-abilities carousel, and a sway fun glider and trampoline loop.

A series of shade sails have already been erected over the new play space, which also incorporate architecturally-designed musical equipment including tubular bells, steel drums and “talking’’ tubes.

Richard Rhydderch, Stockland General Manager, NSW Residential Development, said the playground would be a thrilling, new addition to the community at Elara and he was delighted to see the exciting play space taking shape.

“Stockland is committed to creating vibrant and highly liveable communities for everyone, and this inclusive, fun space for families reflects this vision,’’ Mr Rhydderch said.

“Livvi’s Place Elara will add to the outstanding array of parkland already available  in the community, and further enable residents to come together and enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.’’

When complete, Elara will comprise more than 4,000 homes, a town centre, several playgrounds, a community centre, sports fields and a child care centre.

The community recently reached a major milestone with the launch of its final residential precinct, with homes sites currently starting at $384,000 for a 250 square metre lot.

Homebuyers can also take advantage of Stockland’s Home Sweeter Home Sale, which is offering savings of up to $20,000 on land, plus up to $100,000 in building bonuses from 14 January to 3 March.

Elara is well located in Sydney’s fast-growing north western growth corridor and is close to Sydney Business Park, Schofields Train Station (with services to Sydney’s CBD taking under one hour), Norwest Business Park, Parramatta and Blacktown.
