Work starts on conservation corridor at Edgebrook

19 February 2019

Stockland has commenced construction on a $7 million project to create a 60-metre wide conservation corridor through the heart of the thriving Edgebrook community at Clyde.

Native trees, shrubs and grasses will form part of the work to rejuvenate Clyde Creek, which winds its way through the $208 million masterplanned community.

The work, due to be completed by the end of the year, has been designed to provide a natural habitat for a range of wildlife including the Growling Grass Frog, which is one of the largest frogs in Australia.

Kerry Balci, Project Director at Stockland, said the corridor would become a key feature of the community, encompassing land on both sides of the creek and involving a total area of 5.7 hectares.

“The work will complement the natural beauty of Edgebrook, which has been designed to blend seamlessly with the environment,’’ Ms Balci said.

“A network of walking and cycling paths will be constructed through the corridor as part of the project and will provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy what will be a unique environment.’’

In addition, a pedestrian bridge will be constructed to connect future parkland on both sides of the creek. On one side, planning is under way for an all-inclusive playground designed to meet the needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, while a dog park and fitness hub is planned for the other.

Edgebrook is located about 55 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, and offers easy access to ovals, parks, shops, schools and sporting facilities in the area, as well as the Princes Freeway and Cranbourne Train Station.

Families will also have a choice of existing schools located within 8km of Edgebrook and there are more schools proposed for the area.

Land is now available at Edgebrook starting from $207,000 for a 210 square metre lot to $389,000 for a 667 square metre lot.

Additionally, Stockland’s Home Sweeter Home Sale is offering sweet deals to homebuyers at Victorian communities from 14 January to 3 March, with $10,000 off all residential lots. Building bonuses up to the value of $20,000 are also available from a selection of Stockland’s builder partners.
