Liveability at Elara

How Elara creates liveability

At Elara, we know it takes a lot more than bricks and mortar to create a thriving community. Our annual Liveability Index Survey measures what matters to our residents, so we can design our communities around what’s important.

The Liveability Index Survey invites feedback on all aspects of the community - from quality of built and natural environments, to how it's design supports mental and physical wellbeing.

Access to a range of local shops, cafes and other amenities

Construction of Elara Village neighbourhood centre is well underway. Featuring a full-line Coles supermarket and Liquorland, child care centre, medical centre, gym, food and dining precinct, specialty shops and a Council community centre, Elara Village will have everything you need.

The village centre is expected to be completed in spring 2021, however neighbourhood centre developer, Eildon will monitor the COVID-19 situation as it continues to evolve and update the community on construction timeframes.

Leafy, green spaces

Landscaping work on the Riparian Corridor, a 24-hectare parkland is well underway and is due for completion in spring 2021. The parkland will stretch from Shane’s Park on the south-eastern boundary of Elara up to the 3-hectare lake on the community’s western boundary.

The future green open space will run through the heart of Elara and feature 7 kilometres of biking and walking trails, BBQ facilities, outdoor gym and play equipment, set within a landscape of beautiful, native vegetation. This will be a destination for residents and visitors to the region, and an exciting step in Elara’s development that will see significant tree planting and a striking upgrade for the Elara community.

Introduction of the Elara Community Manager

As part of the gradual reopening of the Elara Community Hub, we are excited to announce our new partnership with Riverstone Neighbourhood Centre.

Riverstone Neighbourhood Centre will manage the reopening of the Elara Community Hub, while also working to activate the broader Elara community and engage with residents. We will be allowing new booking requests to be made through Riverstone Neighbourhood Centre from 1 August 2021, with the anticipated Community Hub reopening in August 2021, Covid permitting.
