We know from our recent Liveability Index Survey that our Aura residents love living in our community. Creating a community is more than building homes, roads and paths. It’s about creating a place that residents want to live, are proud of and feel like they belong.

We know it’s not just our Aura residents that love where they live, it’s our furry friends too! With over 20 award-winning parks and playgrounds, kilometres of connected cycle and walkways and pet-friendly venues, it’s all here in the city of colour.

There’s plenty of dog-friendly fun in Aura

Dogs are natural lovers of open spaces and fresh air, and parks provide them with the perfect environment to stretch their legs and socialise with other dogs. Aura’s extensive network of parks and playgrounds and connected cycle and walkways makes it easy for residents and their dogs to safely explore the neighbourhood while staying active.

With three dedicated dog parks now open within Aura, there’s plenty of fun to be had by your four-legged friends. Discover Aura's latest doggie delight - our brand-new dog park! With great views over the brook, this 690sqm fenced haven offers agility equipment for endless playtime. Plus, enjoy direct access to future brook recreation trails and easy connection to the local Halcyon community. With picnic spots and lots of open space to explore in this 3500sqm park, it's a paw-fect paradise for your furry friend.

Nirimba Dog Park, located adjacent to Fig Tree Park, is fully fenced and the perfect place for dogs to exercise and socialise, with grassed areas, tunnels, and mounds to explore. Designed especially for your furry friends, the Baringa Dog Park at the end of Eden Drive has two separate areas – one for small dogs and one for larger dogs - and features agility equipment and grassed areas for pups to play in.

Nestled alongside the Blackbutt Forest, Baringa Forest Park is another option worth exploring and it will keep the kids happy too, with it’s eight metre climbing tower, 60-metre flying fox and inclusive play zone filled with sensory, social, physical, passive and tactile activities. The park also includes amenities such as picnic shelters, barbecues and toilets, so it is a great place for a relaxing afternoon with the whole family.

After exploring the parks on offer, don’t miss out on spoiling your furry friend with a puppycino and some doggie treats, at Mummy’s Café. A dog-friendly favourite café where Aura locals can bring the entire family so no one misses out. Did you know that Brouhaha Baringa is also a pet-friendly venue? They have a licensed outdoor section, so you can sit with your pets and enjoy a cold beverage.

Aura-based business Discuits can also provide homemade healthy dog treats. If your dog needs a special birthday meatcake, some unique diet handmade goodies or classic dried meats or biscuits, make sure you place a special order for your fur baby.

And last but not least, it’s always reassuring to know that the friendly team at Aura Veterinary Hospital are just a call away whenever your pets need medical attention. The practice features separate pet waiting areas, consulting rooms and hospital wards, with soundproofing throughout to help reduce stress for your pet. They even offer dog-training services to help you build a more positive relationship with your dog.

With its abundance of green spaces, interconnected walkways, pet-friendly amenities and a strong sense of security, it's no wonder that our Aura pooches love calling this beautiful community home.
