Western Sydney Parklands
Home to beautiful bushland, cute critters and family-friendly play and barbecue facilities, the 5,280 hectares of Western Sydney Parklands is the largest urban parkland system in Australia, and one of the largest in the world. It’s home to a variety of walking tracks, bushland, dog parks and playgrounds with lots to do for the entire family. It’s also great for picnics and barbecues.

The Pimelea Loop
What we love about this location is: The Pimelea Loop is the perfect place for the whole family to get back to nature. An easy yet rewarding path - lined by fields of tall bluebells which bloom any time of the year after rain - Pimelea links playgrounds, lookouts and waterways, so there is plenty to see.

Best parking is: Entry to the park via the corner of Cowpasture Rd and The Horsley Drive, Abbotsbury, with plenty of parking upon entry

The walk: 1.6km loop – takes approximately 30 minutes

The Sugarloaf Loop
What we love about this location is: Suitable for walking or running, this short walk takes in the magnificent Moonrise Lookout, with its breathtaking views of Western Sydney and the Sydney CBD skyline. The gentle hills along the way are sure to get your heart racing and provide a good workout for both you and your four-legged friend. While the walk itself offers a brief respite from life’s hectic pace, the view from the top is the undoubted highlight.

Best parking is: Entry to the park via Saxony Road, Abbotsbury, with plenty of parking upon entry

The walk: 2km loop – takes 25-40 minutes

Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park
What we love about this location is: Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park has picnic facilities, playgrounds and a youth area with a skate park, BMX track and basketball court. Community artworks indicating sites of contemplation can be found throughout the park with an indigenous heritage of the area reflected through the Elders Garden and the Bush Tucker path.

Best parking is: Corner Elizabeth Drive and Smithfield Road, Edensor Park

Wetherill Park Reserve
What we love about this location is: Developed as a 16-acre urban park and nature reserve, the large district park features shaded picnic areas, barbeques, toilets and children's playgrounds surrounded by lush native vegetation. A walking circuit meanders through woodland which includes Forest Red Gum, Paperbarks and Bottlebrush, serving as habitat for many native birds such as magpies, galahs, Sulphur-crested Cockatoos and Eastern Rosellas.

Chipping Norton Lakes – Lake Moore Walk
What we love about this location is: Chipping Norton Lakes is a magnificent regional park located along the Georges River in Chipping Norton. There are cycleways, barbecue facilities, picnic areas, playground and gym equipment, boat ramps, sporting fields and the Georges River Environment Education Centre.
Lake Moore Walk starting at Chauvel Park and following the lake's scenic foreshore path to Haigh Park.
