This trend can look intimidating on the surface but, styling a solid colour is actually a lot simpler than it looks. First of all, it’s just plain fun! Colour-blocking is a great opportunity to make a statement in eye-catching, bold colours. If you enjoy turning a head or two, this is the ideal trend to express the fun and frivolous side to your personality. Donning a bright colour will have you looking (and more importantly), feeling confident. Yellow is the perfect colour for showing off your fun and playful nature. The colour of joy, optimism and youth, this colour is a classic for summer and we love seeing it hit the shelves this year. When donning yellow, shade is key. If your skin and hair colour lean on the darker side, be bold in a bright tone. If you’re a bit fairer, head towards mustard or deeper tones of yellow. Blue is set to be a popular colour trend this season, particularly pastel and powder blue shades. Associated with blue skies and soft seas, this colour brings a sense of calm and serenity. Caught somewhere between the orange and brown side of the colour wheel, this shade is ideal for people who feel a bright yellow or pink might be a little too intense for them. These scotched earth tones suit our Aussie sense of style perfectly. Warm and earthy, this shade exudes a relaxed luxury with a bohemian edge. This colour lends itself to a variety of different people, you may just have to tweak the shade slightly to suit your features. Lighter skin should opt for an orange or brown undertone, whereas darker skin can lean more towards the red or pink side of the spectrum.
