Amy and James Lewis are ecstatic to be the founding residents in Aura’s first suburb of Baringa.
The milestone achievement comes hot on the heels of Stockland Queensland General Manager Kingsley Andrew and Education Minister Kate Jones turning the first sod at Aura’s revolutionary STEM-based public primary school.
The primary school, which will have state-of-the-art facilities, such as a robotics lab, recording studio and innovation hub, will cater for Preparatory to Year 6. Initial enrolments commence later this year for the start of the 2018 school year.
Ms Lewis, who is currently a teacher at a STEM-based school on Brisbane’s northside, said she and her husband were still coming to terms with becoming the first residents of Aura, the largest masterplanned community ever undertaken in Australia under single ownership.
“I never thought in my wildest dreams that this would happen. I still have to keep pinching myself,’’ said Ms Lewis. “This is such an exciting time for us. We can’t wait to watch the community grow around us.
“We bought at Aura because we loved how it wasn’t going to be just another estate, but rather an amazing masterplanned community with business, shopping and community hubs and an array of schools and recreational facilities.”
Making the Lewis’s purchase even more special is the fact that the couple’s stylish three-bedroom, two-bathroom home by Integrale Homes represents their first joint property purchase.
”We have been together for six years and married for 15 months and we are looking forward to creating lots of special memories here at Aura,’’ Ms Lewis said.
“We would also like to have children in the future, so it is fantastic to know that there will be an amazing STEM-based school right here on our doorstep. It would be great if I could work there one day too.”
Ben Simpson, Regional Manager for Stockland, said it was so rewarding to be welcoming the first residents at Aura, a community which has been 20 years in the planning.
“On behalf of Stockland, I’d like to congratulate Amy and James on moving into their home and we wish them all the best as they begin this exciting new chapter of their lives,’’ Mr Simpson said.
“We are expecting to have many more residents settling into Baringa in the coming days and months as there are scores of homes currently under construction.”
