3 new parks are now open on Birtinya Island – from table tennis to swings and canoe access, each park has something different for everyone.

Florey Park on Florey Boulevard, located across the lake from the Sunshine Coast Health Precinct, features four table tennis tables that are true works of art, covered in unique pop-art inspired designs by local artists Steven Bordonaro and Merry Sparks. Designed to encourage local residents and visitors of all ages to get outdoors and active, the park is particularly focussed on opportunities for teenagers and adults to have fun.  Florey Park also features a waterfront walkway, handball courts, a canoe access point, barbecue, climbing rope equipment and picnic shelter.

Sunny Park, on the corner of Prosperity Drive and Prime Parade, has three play spaces and plenty of fun equipment including a slide, swings, spinner and sand play area. There is also a barbecue area and public toilets – perfect for a Sunday afternoon catch-up with friends.

Beach Park, on the corner of Prime Parade and Zeal Street, includes a pebble beach on the shores of Lake Kawana for launching kayaks, play equipment, a barbecue and shelter, seating and bike racks.
