Stockland’s new bayside and lakeside Newport community on the shores of Moreton Bay has received a highly coveted 5 star Green Star – Communities rating  from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).

The 5 star rating signifies national leadership in design excellence and environmental responsibility, while also recognising the potential for future economic prosperity and liveability within the community.

One of the greatest strengths of the new masterplanned community, and fundamental to its achievement of the 5 star rating, is its liveability. Newport will provide a range of housing options to appeal to a diverse range of buyers, improving local affordability. It will also provide its future residents with convenient access to new and existing infrastructure, such as nearby schools, numerous local retail, dining, entertainment and employment precincts outside the community and the new Kippa-Ring Train Station currently under construction, and located 800 metres away via a proposed shared walkway and cycleway.

Newport’s masterplan also promotes community engagement with the proposed inclusion of parks and playgrounds, a 2.9 hectare eco-corridor, and a 23 hectare lake. Future residents will also enjoy easy access to the proposed council sports fields, which will be located within a short walk from their homes. The lake, with navigable lock, will provide powerboats and high mast yachts access to Moreton Bay. The lake will also become a centrepiece for waterfront living and the lakeside parks will invite relaxation and recreation, including non-motorised water activities such as kayaking and paddle-boarding.
