The popcorn and snow cones are on Stockland as its popular Pallara community celebrates Australia Day with a free outdoor screening of family favourite Despicable Me 3 on Saturday, 26 January.

The computer-animated comedy was a clear winner with residents who took part in a Facebook poll to decide which film would screen at the family-friendly event from 6pm to 9.30pm at Pallara Central Park, located at Pallara Avenue.

Face painting, food trucks, glow-in-the-dark giveaways, and a chance to pedal a stationary bike to blend a smoothie will form part of an action-packed program of fun ahead of the screening.

David Laner, Queensland General Manager for Residential Communities at Stockland, said the evening would be a great opportunity for residents to get to know each other as well as cap off Australia Day celebrations with family and friends in a relaxed setting.

“Stockland is committed to creating affordable, highly liveable and connected communities, and events such as these bring people together,” Mr Laner said.

“I encourage all of our residents at Pallara as well as those from surrounding communities to bring their picnic rugs and chairs, enjoy some laughs, and join in the free fun.’’

The movie night is part of the celebrations for Stockland’s Home Sweeter Home Sale which is offering sweet deals to homebuyers from 14 January to 3 March, with $10,000 off all residential lots at Queensland communities. Building bonuses up to the value of $25,000 are also available from a selection of Stockland’s builder partners.

Stockland Pallara is one of the last residential communities of its size so close to Brisbane city, providing a rare opportunity to build a new home in the thriving south-west corridor.

Surrounded by lush natural bushland and just 19km from the CBD, Pallara will feature around 720 new homes and more than 2,000 residents on completion.
